More than 40 years ago, when involved in a devastating social issue, a fellow campaigner forcibly explained to me that, by definition, democracy was the responsibility of the public i.e. keeping their representatives accountable which entails investigating and understanding the issues involved.

It's been a lonely and thankless journey.

Thanks for posting. xxx

Thanks Zarayna.

I tell people government is like a care racing down the road at 100 MPH. If you wouldn’t take your hands off the steering wheel of that car, why would you, when it comes to your government??

We will not have this chance again in this country, to gut the corruption and treason in our government, short of a revolution. We cannot squander it.

Liked.

I do so agree.

But, we have become so infantilized that many of us regard 'our government' like a loving parent! lol!

Keep strong, don't let the b***ers get you down.

Fantastic post! You make some excellent points.

I especially appreciate your paragraph about $600 mufflers, Netflix , etc. It's a perfect complement to the post below by one of my favorite Substack misanthropes:

Fuck Everyone and Everything

Why I welcome extinction

Thank you Katherine.

I would settle for people returning to a society based more on common sense, responsibility, morals and faith, than perversion, mediocrity, self centeredness, and stupidity.
