Prisons don't let criminal gang members wear their gang colors and I think that some cities (if I remember correctly) in the US have also at times banned certain gang symbolism, etc. It's the same thing. If a group of people are, at times, known criminals, they give up any "rights" they have. Freedom doesn't mean you get to push your way of life on other people. It's too bad that American's haven't learned that. It's not just a "Muslim" thing. It goes for everything from the idiot biker that feels like they have to rev their stupid engine so loud that it shakes people's houses and wakes the dead, to someone wearing a symbol of the thing they are pushing on others. There's room for disagreement about my views on this, of course, but our society needs to figure out that when our "freedom" to do something affects other people in a negative way and takes away their freedom to be free from what another person is doing, our right to do that thing no longer exists. I'm going down a rabbit hole. Sorry. I'll just add, that if we want more freedom, it is our responsibility to have self control. If we can't control ourselves and act in a way that allows everyone around us to be free as well, then it's our own fault that a police state rises up to police that behavior. To me, this is common sense. But, unfortunately, to many others they just don't get it.
Most civil societies understand, espouse and practice what you explained, until they entertain and allow the radical opportunists in the gates. Then it is a incremental decline and erosion of the very foundations that allowed that society to thrive and survive. The subversion is taught generationally and we eventually arrive at the doorstep of today’s lunatic asylum.
"We’ve allowed perverted and deranged men (AGP and pedophiles) to not only be around children from the age of toddler and up, but to spend hours per day interacting with and teaching them." Please do not leave out the transmaidens, as we've also allowed perverted and deranged females to be in the classroom brainwashing children, and perverted and deranged females to be in mental health manipulating clients, all in the name of worshipping at the feet of deranged males. Comparing a symbolic accoutrement such as a yarmulka, babushka or pe'ot to a niqab with eye slits is juvenile. A babushka just covering the hair is no different than a durag, and in many school dress codes those are also banned. Native Americans are not an immigrant culture and if I visit a reservation I get to comply with their laws, not the other way around. The Amish still have to comply with school dress codes, and the dress that the girls wear are still dresses.
Well said and thank you for bringing up the Transmaidens. They absolutely stand shoulder to shoulder with the Trannies, where the perversion of our kids and society is concerned.
I feel like this common sense and mutual regard was the norm just 10 to 20 years ago. We have declined greatly in that short time. It’s going to be quite a feat to regain what we have lost.
I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.
I'll make it even easier for you: France is the land of the French people. Not anyone else.
The various whores' veils of islam is not part of France, and is not a garment of the French.
The veils, and the accouterments of islam (and judaism for that matter) is indeed a signal to whatever host nation the intruder occupies territory in. It is a signal saying: We are not you. We are above you. You exist to make way for us.
Islam is what needs to be banned, and moslems returned to their place of origin. Any jews or moslems are welcome to visit if they respect the host nation's traditions, laws and customs and shows due deference to those, without complaint or foul noises.
And the same goes for anyone going to a jewish or islamic nation too. Going to another people's lands is no different than being a guest in someone's house. If I visit you for dinner, and you say Grace - am I to ban you from that in your own home if I'm not a Christian? And am I to demand being allowed whatever rite I feel necessary, maybe even one anathema to your faith?
No. Among indivduals, this is easy to resolve. Don't invite the climate-hysteric, or feminist vegan, or hasidic jew or whatever, if you know they do not respect sanctity of hospitality. If I'm dinner guest in a jewish home, I don't ask for a ham sandwich. If you are guest at my table and I offer you surströmming, I expect you to try it out of respect for proper behaviour (I don't expect you to like it!). And so on.
Nations cannot do that. Nations can only ever act with blunt instruments. Which means that all trouble-causing, rabble-rousing jews and moslems must be returned to their home nations. Or stop bringing their eternal war to other nations.
Oh, and an even easier way to understand this:
Do not apply American logic onto nations and peoples outside of the USA. Understand, if you are American, that land and blood is a real thing, and that being of a people and being a citizen of a state are not even remotely the same thing.
We were taught that you were not to be an embarrassment to your family, race, culture or country. And like wise were not to assail another, who you were a guest of.
Okay, I had to look up surstromming. What would you do if I very politely declined. I mean, I would want to try it to be polite and be a good guest. But if I then proceeded to dry heave wouldn't that be worse? I know, I know, it's just an example. 😁
Thank you for saying that we shouldn't apply American logic onto other nations. I was going to do a medical mission thru my work to Nepal years ago. In preparation, I read a 3 book autobiography of a medical missionary in Nepal. I quickly realized several things. I unknowingly had a perception that I was superior because I am learned in modern infection control and medicine. Yikes! I was not able to overcome my aversion to their habit of expectorating profusely and everywhere. And the thought that I couldn't speak to them in a meaningful way because of my lack of Nepalese seemed then to entirely negate my purpose for visiting. Sharing health information is a majority of my profession as a RN. So, I didn't go. And in the end, the mission didn't either. Funding I think was the reasoning. I then had the opportunity to travel outside the US and came face to face with the cultural differences and as a guest, what that meant I needed to do. More Americans should travel.
I grew up in a heavily, Italian, Puerto Rican, Irish and Polish community. Amongstany other ethnicities. We never had any issues of culture or politics if I recall. It could be that we were all RC for the most part? I dunno.
I'd be mildly disappointed, and would gently mock you? The smell is unholy, but the taste is basically that of rather salty, slightly fatty, fish. People who do the "Surströmming challenge" online almost always do it wrong, as they have none of the rest of the stuff you eat at the same time (also, no Akvavit nor beer due to Youtube censorship I guess).
Flatbread made from wheat/rye/potatoe-flour, cold boiled potatoes, sourcream [Gräddfil, a Swedish version of sourcream], freshly chopped red and yellow onions, and butter (real butter): butter the bread, mash the potatoes into the butter, smear sourcream on the potatoes, sprinkle onions on top, then add chopped pieces of surströmming, and roll it up (called "klämma", meaning "squeeze" in Swedish, or "bitå - dialectal - meaning "bite off"). Typically you down a shot of Akvavit before and after each serving.
Hehe, I've worked with Poles and it was real funny how horrified some of them were at the thought of eating blood-pudding (as in an actual pudding, which you pan-fry, made from pig's and geese blood). The ones from northern Poland had no trouble, the ones from the South made the sign of the cross.
Speaking of Italian - I'd have to gird my loins if offered Casu Marzu (spelling?), that cheese with lfeas in it, but if offered I'd at least try it. I'll never forget when we were in Jugoslavia before the war, and were served brain. All I could taste was garlic, salt and parsley.
Grandma brought us up like this: you don't like what's on the table, don't eat. But you don't get anything else either. "Starvation is best spice" was a saying of hers, and she was old enough that starvation and famine weren't just something that happened abroad or in the history books.
Hence the attitude re: food. Someone spent time of their life producing the means to serve you this - to refuse is to say that time was worthless.
The timeless failing of each and every society and civilization is we lose those grand and great grand parents who truly knew what starvation, freezing, debilitating fatigue, oppression and loss were, first hand. We stand on the shoulders of their sacrifices, truths and norms and do all we can to tear them apart. I'm using the royal "we" so no internalizing necessary here.
Absolutely. My great great grands came in in '47. That's 1847. All their rights were stripped from them as RC in Ireland. My grandmother, technically not a first generation but a second never forgot and hated the English with every fiber of her being. That being said, she did marry a Canadian man who was second generation English. Then widowed and later married my grandpa, an Irish French Canadian. She wrote the history and genealogy and I've carried it on. No one really cares except myself and maybe one other person. Had Revolutionary soldiers, civil war soldiers, WW 2 and Vietnam soldiers in my direct line.
I will not go quietly into that gentle night. Would that I could, I'd run the carpetbaggers out of my state. And send the illegal immigrants back to do it right as they should have the first time.
To be fair, many of the none military, non criminal migrants are being sold a bill of nonsense. I think it was Beck who went to the Darien Gap and discovered the trafficking going on. I can't imagine what they went thru. That's not a majority of the illegals but it is a good number. Whomever is responsible for this is needs to die a slow and painful death.
Point taken. I can't control the heave. But maybe that's half the point eh? 😆 I try to get folks to try scrapple and they usually refuse.
I spent many hours at the kitchen table staring at food I couldn't tolerate. It was finish your plate or you don't get up from the table. Liver. Lima beans. Pickled beets. Oh Lord. Learned to like liver. Swallowed Lima beans whole and drank a lot of water. Still don't do pickled anything but LOVE fresh beets.
In case the link doesn't work, it's called "Pölsa" (not Pölse, that's Danish for sausage). The name means "mashed together". Though it is most often eaten with (drum toll) pickled beetroots.
I could happily live on pölsa, eggs, beetroots, potatoes and onions seven days out seven.
Your guess is as good as mine. We buy 20# at a time. Might get us through a year. My Texas born and raised, bacon loving husband is quite fond of it too. We make SLT sandwiches and I use it in his breakfast burritos. If you're stateside you can order it from Stoltzfus Meats. Here's how you cook it.
Down south they call it liver mush. Roughly the same thing.
Up here in New England we have Sugar on Snow with a pickle and a plain donut in the late winter... at sugaring time. A few months later we have fiddleheads.
My husband's family waited with high anticipation when this Yankee tried tamales for the first time. They were hoping I'd try to eat the husk. But I weren't born yesterday!!
Liver wurst/sausage is a staple on the Jul-bord (Yule-table) down south in Scania (Sweden's Deep South). Ideally, it should be so soft you can use it as spread too. Another dish from down there (lived there for over 20 years) is boiled cod's head. You get the entire thing on a platter, and have to pick the meat off from it.
And in Scania is the only restaurant in Sweden that's still allowed to serve Rook (the bird). Royal decree, long ago. Rooks are otherwise a protected species here. Svartsoppa (lit. Black soup) is another favourite down there: soup made from the blood of geese and pigs, seasoned and spiced with soft gingerbread cookies for dipping.
Typically, to all traditonal Swedish food, you drink Akvavit or some other snapps (Schnapps), most commonly ones spiced with Malört (Wormwood). There's an American brand called Jeppson's Malört, founded by a Swedish migrant to the US in the 1920s during prohibition. Apparently, by selling it as an "herbal tonic" he got around the ban on selling alcoholic beverages.
Sugar on snow sounds like something that'd make me lose my last fillings!
And THEN we find out that the American medical model is SERIOUSLY flawed!!!! (And not just American, much of the Western, which has been smeared over everyone else with Much Arrogance). No offense to you intended, btw.
"Whore's veil" was a legal thing here before 1856. Women convicted of adultery/infidelity had to wear a specific piece of cloth on their head when attending church, until sentence was served.
(Men had to pay a heavy fine, if married, and could be sentenced to stand in the stocks outside church for a set number of Sundays.)
Moslems regard Western women as whores because they do not wear the hijab et cetera, since the point of the covering is to show that the moslem woman is indeed "pure".
Hence, "Whores' veils" for the islamic garb turns the insult back on them.
I COULD go off on why "whores" should be vilified, but that can wait until AFTER we put an end to the villainy going on with "pandemics" and so forth... ;)
It's easier in my native tongue: there was a very real difference in olden days between a prostitute, a whore, and someone committing adultery/infidelity - and added to that whether any of the parties were married or not.
Both linguistically and legally, I might add. In English, there doesn't seem to be the same difference (at least not in modern English?).
No, women (or men) forced into prostitution should not be vilified, nor should those rare few that chooses to do it on their on accord, without any mental illness, coercion or drug habit forcing the decision.
(The people involved in the modern slave trade of prostitutes ought to be executed, however.)
But since "whore" as come to mean "integrity for sale" rather than just selling sexual favours, here we are.
Swedish. As such, I have a leg-up on English when the English word has a Nordic or Old Norse root. At university, we had to read Beowulf, the original text, which was a lot easier for those of us with Swedish, Norwegian or Danish as our mother tongue, than it was for the English-speaking students.

Not sure why the WOMEN, who are obviously not part of rape gangs, have to bear the brunt.
I know they are TAUGHT that they "should be modest" or whatever, and I don't agree with this entire thing being a MUST, just as I don't agree that they MUST have to NOT wear the burka, etc...
I'm just asking WHY should any GOVT tell ANYBODY what they can/can't wear? The exception being if someone is already a criminal, and IN JAIL, in that case, within reason, they have to do as they're told...
Me, I think it's SELF-ABUSE to wear these coverings, but we don't forbid people to be heroin addicts, or forbid people to use WiFi in their homes, even with children or elderly around, we don't forbid everyone to forego alcohol... etc. I guess I'm just a bit of a purist when it comes to the govt telling me a damn thing about what I can/can't do...
But punish the MEN that are doing all this raping and pillaging, not the WOMEN who are just being rather ignorant... ? I donut know, I have mixed feelings, but basically I'm for personal FREEDOM.
Prisons don't let criminal gang members wear their gang colors and I think that some cities (if I remember correctly) in the US have also at times banned certain gang symbolism, etc. It's the same thing. I think you drove that railroad spike in with one blow of the hammer Rikard.
Well done Sir!!
All true and the only people who could find fault with those points of logic and understanding are the intentionally obtuse and ignorant.
Thanks for parking those thoughts here.
Thanks right back. When I grew up, this is how everyone taught their kids to think about such things:
Your home, your call. If you're a guest, be polite and set a good example.
If you go abroad, know that foreigners will judge your entire people, culture and nation based on how you act.
To me, those simple principles are about the least racist anyone can be.
Yup it was the same for me.

"Whores' veils"??? Huh?
Sorry, should have been an asterisk there:
"Whore's veil" was a legal thing here before 1856. Women convicted of adultery/infidelity had to wear a specific piece of cloth on their head when attending church, until sentence was served.
(Men had to pay a heavy fine, if married, and could be sentenced to stand in the stocks outside church for a set number of Sundays.)

Ah. Thanks for explaining!

Well said. What's your native tongue? But I think you're doing just fine in English.
Swedish. As such, I have a leg-up on English when the English word has a Nordic or Old Norse root. At university, we had to read Beowulf, the original text, which was a lot easier for those of us with Swedish, Norwegian or Danish as our mother tongue, than it was for the English-speaking students.
I've even taught English on occasion, though pol-sci and the history of ideas are my main subjects.
Spot on.
Thanks Ed.
Big fat dose of reality here. We need lots more of this in the west if we are to survive.
Thank you Sir!!
If they steal this election, this all gets turbo charged and the world changes over night, in many ways.
I published my first article (thoughts really) on substack a few days back and said just that. We are at a 1862 moment in history.
I'll have to take a look at that. I truly wish we could learn lessons from the past en masse instead of just pockets of us.
Rikard, would you consider fleshing out this concept a bit. I want to make sure I understand. "that being of a people and being of a state are not even remotely the same thing."
Are you saying heritage and citizenship are not the same?
No, they are most definitely not, never has been and will hopefully never be.
Citizenship is an act of state bureaucracy.
Heritage is something you are born to.
